Bello Turji in panic, will soon become history – Nigerian military

The Nigerian military has declared that wanted terrorist leader, Bello Turji, is now under severe pressure and operating in panic mode as security forces intensify operations across the North-West. The military said sustained offensives are closing in on Turji and other notorious bandit leaders, making it difficult for them to operate freely or settle in one location.

Speaking during a tour of military operations in Zamfara State, the Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, Major General Warrah Idris, said intelligence reports show that Turji is constantly on the move. According to him, coordinated ground assaults, human intelligence, and advanced surveillance have forced the terrorist leader to relocate frequently to avoid capture.

The military commander dismissed claims that Bello Turji controls any local government or community, describing such reports as deliberate propaganda. He challenged Turji to name a single area under his control, stressing that someone without a fixed base cannot claim authority over any territory. Idris also revealed that other bandit leaders such as Gwaska, Ado Aleru, and Dogo Gide are being actively tracked using multiple intelligence platforms.

Idris further debunked rumours that the military plans to release detained bandits, calling such claims false and dangerous misinformation. He warned against spreading unverified reports, including those generated with artificial intelligence, and assured Nigerians that the armed forces remain committed to ending banditry and terrorism. He expressed confidence that ongoing operations will succeed and that Bello Turji will soon become history in the North-West.
