Billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, father of Nigerian music star Davido, has spoken publicly about the steps taken by the family to address claims that a 12-year-old girl, Anuoluwapo, is the singer’s daughter. He explained that the family coordinated several DNA tests to put the long-standing paternity controversy to rest and ensure fairness to all parties involved.
The issue resurfaced in mid-January after the girl shared an emotional message on social media, alleging she was being bullied over claims that Davido is her father. She said the situation affected her mental well-being and called for a DNA test. Dr Adeleke revealed that the family decided to handle the matter transparently, especially after claims emerged that the child might be related to Davido’s cousin, B-Red.
According to him, the family agreed to multiple tests across different clinics to avoid any doubt. Davido reportedly underwent three DNA tests, while B-Red took two, bringing the total to five tests. Adeleke said the girl’s family was allowed to choose one clinic themselves, while additional tests were arranged independently to ensure credibility and trust in the outcome.
Dr Adeleke also shared how the family first learned about the child years ago through documents sent from Ibadan, including photos and a birth certificate that raised questions. He said he personally contacted the child’s grandmother, welcomed the idea of testing, and assured her that the family would take responsibility if the child was truly his granddaughter. He stressed that the entire process was handled with care, dignity, and respect for the child involved.
