Political analyst Jide Ojo has suggested that former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, might consider leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to Ojo, internal party dynamics and strategic disagreements could influence Obi’s decision to explore other political platforms.

Ojo noted that while Obi’s alignment with ADC initially energized the party and attracted new members, unresolved differences and perceived constraints within the party structure may prompt him to reconsider his position. The political analyst emphasized that Obi’s move would be guided by his ambition to maintain national relevance and build a strong platform for 2027.

He further explained that Obi’s potential departure may be motivated by the need to align with a party that can provide wider national support and greater flexibility in candidate selection and campaign strategy. Obi’s loyal supporters, he added, will closely watch his next political move.

Jide Ojo concluded that while Obi’s decision is yet to be made public, his influence on Nigerian politics remains significant, and any shift in party affiliation would have major implications for opposition politics in the run-up to the 2027 elections.
