Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has opposed the deployment of Turkish and Qatari soldiers to Gaza, stating that Israel will not allow foreign troops on its borders. The decision comes amid ongoing tensions and humanitarian concerns in the region.
Reports indicate that both Turkey and Qatar had offered to send peacekeeping forces to help stabilize Gaza, but Netanyahu insisted that such deployments could compromise Israel’s security and sovereignty. He emphasized that Israel will maintain full control over any military and security operations in the area.
Analysts note that the move could further strain Israel’s diplomatic relations with Turkey and Qatar, both of which have been actively involved in regional mediation efforts. International observers continue to urge restraint and dialogue to prevent escalation.
Despite the refusal, Netanyahu said Israel remains open to humanitarian support from international partners, but will firmly reject any foreign military presence. He called for coordinated efforts to protect civilians while ensuring Israel’s security concerns are not compromised.
