The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has strongly condemned the recent massacre in Kano State and called for capital punishment for those responsible. He described the killings as a serious crime against humanity and said such acts must not be treated lightly by the authorities.
Speaking on the incident, Emir Sanusi stressed that justice must be firm and clear to discourage future violence. According to him, allowing offenders to escape with mild punishment would only encourage more bloodshed and insecurity in society.
The traditional ruler also urged security agencies to act swiftly by arresting and prosecuting all those involved in the attack. He emphasized that leaders at all levels have a duty to protect innocent lives and ensure that the rule of law is upheld at all times.
Emir Sanusi further called on the government to support victims’ families and address the root causes of violence, including poverty and social injustice. He noted that while punishment is necessary, long-term peace can only be achieved through fairness, accountability, and inclusive governance.
