The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested six individuals allegedly involved in the sale of a child for N3 million. The suspects were apprehended following intelligence reports and a swift police operation in the state.
Police spokesperson disclosed that the suspects had planned to transfer the child to buyers for the specified amount. Investigations are ongoing to identify the buyers and any other persons linked to the crime.
Authorities warned that anyone involved in child trafficking or sales will face severe legal consequences under Nigerian law. The police further emphasized their commitment to protecting children and curbing human trafficking in the state.
The arrested suspects are currently in police custody, and the case will be transferred to the appropriate law enforcement and judicial bodies for prosecution. The police appealed to members of the public to report any suspicious activity involving children.
