Rivers crisis: Governance reduced to childish politics – Aisha Yesufu

Popular activist, Aisha Yesufu, has criticised the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, describing it as “childish politics” that has reduced governance to unnecessary drama. She said the situation reflects poor leadership and misplaced priorities among political actors.

According to Yesufu, leaders elected to serve the people are instead focused on personal battles and power struggles. She noted that governance should be about development, accountability, and improving the lives of citizens, not endless political conflicts.

The activist warned that continued political distractions could slow development in Rivers State. She stressed that residents deserve peace, stability, and responsible leadership rather than constant tension that affects governance and public confidence.

Yesufu called on political leaders to act maturely and put the interest of Rivers people first. She urged them to end the crisis and focus on delivering good governance, saying politics should never be played at the expense of citizens’ welfare.
