Two more Rivers lawmakers join calls to drop impeachment against Gov Fubara

Two additional lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly have joined growing calls for the impeachment process against Governor Sim Fubara to be dropped. The legislators said the ongoing political tensions over the impeachment could destabilize the state.

The new voices in support of halting the impeachment emphasized that unity and stability should take priority over political rivalry. They warned that continuing with the process could distract the government from critical developmental projects in Rivers State.

The lawmakers urged their colleagues to reconsider their positions, saying that dialogue and reconciliation would be more beneficial than pursuing removal. They highlighted the need for peaceful political engagement to maintain governance continuity.

Political observers in the state noted that the momentum to stop the impeachment reflects a shift in legislative sentiment. The growing support for Fubara signals the possibility of resolving the political dispute without escalating tensions in Rivers State.
