Electricity supply has been restored in Taraba State after residents experienced about five days of total blackout. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) confirmed that the power outage was caused by a technical fault on a major transmission line serving the state.
According to TCN, engineers worked around the clock to repair the damaged section of the line and safely reconnect Taraba to the national grid. The company said the fault was more complicated than expected, which led to the extended period without electricity.
Residents and business owners across the state expressed relief after power was finally restored. Many said the blackout disrupted daily activities, affected small businesses, and caused financial losses, especially for those who rely heavily on electricity for their work.
TCN apologized for the inconvenience caused by the outage and thanked the public for their patience. The company assured customers that steps are being taken to strengthen the power network in the region to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
