NAF launches attack on Terrorists in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a major air operation against terrorist hideouts in Abbaga Jiri, a location within the Timbuktu Triangle area of Borno State. The air mission was part of Operation Hadin Kai and was aimed at weakening the ability of terrorist groups to operate freely in the region. The strikes were carefully planned to support troops on the ground and reduce threats to nearby communities.

According to NAF officials, the operation was based on credible intelligence that revealed the presence of terrorist camps, supply points and movement routes. Surveillance aircraft first monitored the area before fighter jets carried out targeted strikes on key locations. These actions helped disrupt the terrorists’ activities and prevented them from regrouping or escaping before ground forces moved in.

After the air strikes, Nigerian Army troops advanced into the area and confirmed that the operation achieved its objectives. The destruction of camps and logistics points reduced the terrorists’ ability to launch attacks, store weapons or receive supplies. Military sources say this joint effort shows the importance of cooperation between air and ground forces in the fight against insurgency.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, said the Nigerian Air Force will continue to carry out intelligence-driven operations to deny terrorists safe haven anywhere in the country. He added that the military remains committed to protecting civilians while maintaining pressure on armed groups that threaten Nigeria’s security.
