Russia has warned the United States and European countries that sending foreign soldiers into Ukraine would be seen as a direct act of war. Russian officials said such a move would dangerously escalate the conflict and could lead to a wider confrontation beyond Ukraine’s borders.
The warning comes amid reports that some Western leaders are discussing the possibility of deploying troops for training, peacekeeping or security support roles. Moscow says even limited military presence from NATO countries would cross a red line and threaten regional and global stability.
European and American officials have not confirmed any final decision on troop deployment, but they continue to support Ukraine with weapons, funding and training. Western governments insist their support is defensive and aimed at helping Ukraine protect its territory rather than expanding the war.
Analysts say Russia’s strong language is meant to discourage further Western involvement and signal how seriously Moscow views the issue. With tensions already high, diplomats warn that any miscalculation could push the conflict into a much more dangerous phase.
