2027: APC chair boasts Plateau will give Tinubu over one million votes

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed confidence that Plateau State will give President Bola Tinubu more than one million votes in the 2027 general elections. He said this reflects the growing strength of the party and the weakening of opposition groups in the state.

Yilwatda made the statement during an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Pankshin for the Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam (PKK) Federal Constituency. He said the political environment in Plateau has changed since the 2023 elections, with many former rivals now supporting the ruling party.

According to him, key political figures who once opposed APC — including Governor Caleb Mutfwang, commissioners and local government chairmen — have now aligned with the party. He said this unity has removed the obstacles that affected APC’s performance in the last election.

He added that PKK remains one of APC’s strongest areas, noting that President Tinubu recorded some of his best results there in 2023. With stronger grassroots support and growing membership, he said Plateau is well positioned to deliver massive votes for the president in 2027.
