The Nigerian Army has officially opened online applications for the 29/2026 Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) course. Interested candidates can now apply through the Nigerian Army recruitment portal. This move marks the next step for those seeking to serve as commissioned officers in the Army.
Applicants are required to meet the eligibility criteria outlined on the official portal, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and fitness standards. The DSSC course is designed to train young Nigerians in leadership, military tactics, and professional skills necessary for commissioned service.
The Nigerian Army has urged applicants to submit their forms online and warned against paying cybercafés, agents, or third parties. All applications must be completed directly on the official recruitment website to avoid disqualification and ensure fairness in the recruitment process.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for further screening, including medical tests, physical fitness exercises, and interviews. Successful candidates will then begin the training course, which prepares them to serve in various capacities across the Nigerian Army.
