Former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo, has dismissed claims linking him to an alleged plot to assassinate the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. He described the reports circulating online as completely false and said they were created to damage his name and mislead the public.
In a statement issued by his aide, Obele Briggs, Danagogo said he has never been involved in any meeting, discussion or plan related to violence or illegal activities. He stressed that he is a peaceful and law-abiding citizen who has always respected the rule of law throughout his years in public service.
Danagogo added that the allegation is a deliberate attempt by unknown persons to drag him into political controversies he has no connection with. He urged Nigerians to ignore what he called unfounded and mischievous stories that exist only on social media and have no factual basis.
He also denied claims that he is on the run, stating that he is fully available to cooperate with the police or any security agency if invited. According to him, he has nothing to hide and welcomes any lawful investigation that will clear his name.
