Police arrest suspects as hoodlums attack fire fighters in Saki

The police have arrested some suspects following an attack on firefighters by suspected hoodlums in Saki, Oyo State. The incident reportedly happened while fire service officers were responding to an emergency call in the area, only to be confronted and assaulted by a group of youths.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers disrupted the rescue operation, making it difficult for the firefighters to carry out their duties. The situation caused panic among residents, as the fire service officers were forced to withdraw temporarily before security personnel arrived to restore calm.

The police command confirmed that arrests had been made and investigations are ongoing to identify others involved in the attack. Authorities described the incident as unacceptable, stressing that emergency workers must be protected at all times while carrying out their responsibilities.
