The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Niger State has expressed deep condolences to the national president of the union following the death of seven journalists in Gombe State. The union described the incident as a tragic loss to the media profession and the nation.
NUJ officials in Niger State acknowledged the immense contribution of the late journalists to press freedom and their commitment to reporting under challenging conditions. They said the union stands in solidarity with the families of the victims.
The union also urged journalists across the country to remain vigilant and prioritize safety while carrying out their professional duties, noting that such tragedies highlight the risks associated with reporting.
Finally, NUJ Niger assured the national president of its unwavering support during this difficult period, pledging to cooperate in initiatives aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future.
