Abiya has emerged as the acting chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State following recent changes in the party’s leadership. The development comes amid ongoing efforts to stabilise the party structure and prepare for future political activities in the state.

Party officials said Abiya’s emergence is in line with the party’s constitution and internal arrangements. They expressed confidence that he would provide calm leadership and unite members during this transitional period.

Supporters of the party in Kano welcomed the appointment, saying it would help restore order and strengthen the party ahead of upcoming elections. They urged members to remain loyal and work together to achieve the party’s goals.

Abiya has promised to focus on reconciliation, internal discipline and grassroots mobilisation. He called on party members to put aside their differences and support the party’s vision for development and good governance.
