Troops neutralise senior Boko Haram commanders in Borno

Nigerian troops have recorded a major success after neutralising several senior Boko Haram commanders during a recent military operation in Borno State. The operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to weaken the terrorist group and restore peace in communities affected by years of insurgency.

According to security sources, the operation targeted key Boko Haram hideouts where top leaders were believed to be coordinating attacks and recruitment. By taking out these commanders, the military hopes to disrupt the group’s leadership structure and reduce its ability to plan and carry out violent activities.

Residents in nearby communities welcomed the development, describing it as a relief after long periods of fear and insecurity. Many locals expressed hope that the action would lead to safer roads, better farming activities, and the gradual return of displaced families to their homes.

The military has reassured Nigerians that operations will continue until all terrorist threats are eliminated. Authorities also called on citizens to keep supporting security agencies with useful information to help maintain peace and stability in the region.
