Extend airstrikes to North-East, North-Central – Benue community leaders beg Trump

Community leaders in Benue State have appealed to former US President Donald Trump to extend military airstrikes to Nigeria’s North-East and North-Central regions. The leaders said that recent strikes have helped reduce terrorist activities but stressed that further action is needed to protect more communities.

Speaking on behalf of the communities, the leaders noted that insurgents and bandits continue to threaten lives and properties in areas not yet targeted. They emphasized that expanding the airstrikes could significantly weaken terrorist networks and restore security for vulnerable populations.

The Benue chiefs also expressed appreciation for past interventions, highlighting that American military support had provided temporary relief and boosted local confidence in combating insecurity. They urged continued collaboration between Nigerian authorities and international partners to tackle terrorism effectively.

Finally, the community representatives called on the federal government to facilitate coordination with international allies and ensure that military actions do not endanger civilians. They stressed the need for sustained security operations until peace is fully restored across affected regions.
