Christmas: Zulum urges Borno residents to protect sacred bond of unity

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has urged residents of the state to protect the sacred bond of unity as they celebrate Christmas. He said unity remains the strongest weapon against division, violence and hatred, especially in a state that has experienced years of conflict.

The governor encouraged people of different religions and ethnic groups to continue living together peacefully. According to him, Christmas is a time to forgive, heal old wounds and strengthen relationships among neighbours and communities.

Zulum also reminded residents that lasting peace cannot be achieved through government efforts alone. He stressed that citizens must take responsibility for promoting tolerance, rejecting extremism and supporting one another during difficult times.

He concluded by wishing Christians in Borno and across Nigeria a joyful Christmas and prayed for lasting peace, security and development in the state. The governor expressed hope that the message of unity would guide residents into the new year.
