The Labour Party has asked Nigerian leaders to use the Christmas season as a time to reflect on service, kindness and responsibility to the people. The party said leadership should always be about helping others, especially during a season that promotes love and sacrifice.
In its Christmas message, the party noted that many Nigerians are going through economic hardship and insecurity. It urged political leaders to show empathy and take practical steps that will ease the burden on citizens, particularly the poor and vulnerable.
The Labour Party stressed that selfless leadership means putting public interest above personal or political gain. It added that transparency, honesty and accountability should guide those in positions of authority if the country is to move forward.
The party ended by wishing Nigerians a peaceful Christmas and called for unity across ethnic and religious lines. It expressed hope that leaders would embrace the spirit of the season and work harder to improve the lives of the people in the coming year.
