Borno mosque attack: Tinubu orders intensified security operations – Shettima

President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to intensify operations across Borno State following the recent attack on a mosque in the state. Vice President Kashim Shettima disclosed this while reacting to the incident, describing it as a painful act of violence against innocent worshippers and the nation as a whole.

Shettima said the President is deeply concerned about the safety of citizens and has ordered security forces to step up patrols, intelligence gathering and response efforts in the North-East and other vulnerable areas. According to him, the government will not allow criminals and extremists to threaten peace and religious harmony in the country.

The Vice President also called on residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by sharing useful information that can help prevent further attacks. He assured the people of Borno that the federal government is committed to restoring lasting peace and protecting lives and property.

He added that the administration will continue to support the military and other security services with the tools and resources needed to confront insecurity. The government, he said, remains determined to defeat terrorism and ensure Nigerians can worship and live without fear.
