Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has strongly condemned the bomb blast that hit a place of worship in the state, describing the attack as barbaric and inhumane. He said no cause or grievance can ever justify violence against innocent worshippers who are only seeking to pray peacefully.
The governor expressed sympathy to the families of those affected by the explosion and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured. He assured residents that the state government is working closely with security agencies to ensure that those behind the attack are tracked down and brought to justice.
Zulum said attacks on religious centres are aimed at creating fear and division among Nigerians, but insisted that Borno people must not allow criminals to destroy their unity. He urged residents to remain calm, vigilant and supportive of security efforts in their communities.
He added that the government will continue to invest in both security operations and peace-building initiatives to prevent future attacks. The governor called on citizens to share useful information with authorities and stand together against violence and extremism.
