Bashir Shaba: Niger Gov’s SSA resigns, dumps APC for ADC

Bashir Shaba, who served as a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Niger State Governor, has resigned from his position and formally left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC). His decision has added to the list of recent political movements in the state.

Shaba explained that his resignation was based on personal conviction and the need to align with a platform he believes better reflects his political values and goals. He said the move was not driven by anger or conflict but by a desire for a fresh political direction.

The defection is seen by observers as another sign of shifting loyalties ahead of future elections, as politicians review their positions and alliances. Political analysts say such moves are becoming more common as parties try to strengthen their grassroots presence.

ADC officials welcomed Shaba into the party, describing him as an asset who would contribute meaningfully to its growth in Niger State. They expressed hope that his entry would attract more supporters and strengthen the party’s structure in the state.
