The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has strongly condemned the recent attack on a mosque in Borno State, describing it as barbaric and completely unacceptable. He said the act shows total disregard for human life and the sanctity of places of worship.

Abbas expressed sympathy with the victims and their families, noting that worship centres should always be safe spaces for people seeking peace and spiritual comfort. He said attacking innocent worshippers is a direct attack on society’s shared values.

The Speaker called on security agencies to act swiftly and ensure those responsible for the attack are brought to justice. He stressed that such crimes must not go unpunished, as accountability is important to discourage further violence.

He also urged Nigerians to remain united and refuse to allow criminals divide them along religious or ethnic lines. According to him, national unity and cooperation with security agencies are key to defeating insecurity across the country.
