The Nigeria National League (NNL) has expelled Sporting Supreme from the league following serious violations of its rules and regulations. The league management also announced bans on some of the club’s officials who were found guilty of actions that went against the league’s code of conduct.
According to the NNL, the decision was taken after investigations into incidents involving the club, which were considered damaging to the integrity of the competition. The league said it would not tolerate behaviour that threatens fair play, safety, or the smooth running of the championship.
Sporting Supreme will no longer participate in any NNL activities for the remainder of the season, while the affected officials are barred from taking part in football administration within the league for a specified period. The NNL stressed that the sanctions are meant to serve as a warning to other clubs.
League officials said the measures are part of wider efforts to improve discipline, professionalism and credibility in Nigerian football. They encouraged all teams and officials to respect league rules in order to protect the image and future of the sport.
