The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has agreed to adopt a consensus method for its upcoming party congresses. Party leaders said the decision was taken to ensure a smooth, peaceful and united process across the state.

According to party officials, the consensus approach will reduce internal conflicts, prevent unnecessary disputes, and promote harmony among members. Aspirants are expected to consult widely and reach agreements instead of going through competitive elections that could divide the party.

The party leadership described the move as part of efforts to strengthen unity ahead of future political activities, especially as preparations for the 2027 general elections gradually begin. They believe that internal peace will help the party remain focused on governance and winning public trust.

Party members and stakeholders have welcomed the decision, saying it will save time, reduce tension and encourage cooperation. They also urged leaders to ensure that the consensus process is fair, transparent and inclusive so that all interests are properly represented.
