Governor Mbah Swears In 2 New Commissioners, Says No Holiday For Appointees

Governor Peter Mbah has sworn in two new commissioners as part of efforts to strengthen his administration and improve service delivery in Enugu State. The new appointees are Barrister Osinachi Nnajieze, who becomes the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and Dr. Charles Egumgbe, who takes charge of the newly created Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development.

Barrister Nnajieze replaces Dr. Kingsley Udeh, who is now the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology at the federal level, while Dr. Egumgbe’s ministry was created after the restructuring of the former Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Chieftaincy Affairs. Governor Mbah said the changes were meant to make governance more effective and responsive to the needs of the people.

The governor stressed that there would be no holiday for any appointee, new or old, because the government has a lot of work to do. He said the Ministry of Justice will now clear all government contracts before payments are made in order to prevent fraud and ensure transparency. According to him, the ministry plays a key role in protecting public resources and guiding government decisions.

Mbah also said traditional institutions and rural communities are very important to development, which is why a separate ministry was created for that sector. He charged Dr. Egumgbe to strengthen traditional leadership and promote order at the community level, while Barrister Nnajieze promised that both commissioners would work hard to support the governor’s vision and sustain the pace of development in the state.
