Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi has said that Nigeria’s national team does not depend only on its strikers for goals at the Africa Cup of Nations. According to him, players in different positions contribute to scoring, making the team more unpredictable and dangerous for opponents.
Ajayi explained that the team’s strength comes from collective effort, where midfielders and defenders are also encouraged to move forward when opportunities arise. This approach, he said, reduces pressure on the forwards and ensures that the team remains competitive even if the main attackers are tightly marked.
He added that this style of play reflects the team’s discipline and understanding among players, noting that everyone is committed both to defending and attacking when necessary. Ajayi stressed that the coaching crew has worked hard to build a balanced side that can adapt to different opponents.
The defender expressed confidence that this shared responsibility will help the Super Eagles go far in the tournament. He urged fans to keep supporting the team, promising that the players will continue to give their best to make Nigeria proud at AFCON.
