Yuletide: Taraba Police Command demands advance notice on gift sharing events

The Taraba State Police Command has directed residents to provide advance notice for any planned gift-sharing events during the Christmas and New Year festive season. The move is aimed at ensuring safety and security during holiday celebrations, particularly in public gatherings.

Police spokesperson, DSP David Kwache, explained that prior notification allows the command to properly plan and deploy officers to monitor events, prevent criminal activities, and safeguard lives and property. He emphasized that the directive applies to both private and community-organized gift exchanges.

Kwache further warned that failure to notify the police in advance could result in event suspension or legal action. He also encouraged event organizers to work closely with local authorities to ensure compliance and maintain a safe environment for participants.

The command appealed to residents to report any suspicious activities during the festive period. They assured the public that strict measures and patrols would be in place across Taraba State to guarantee peaceful celebrations and protect everyone during the yuletide season.
