Two killed in lone auto crash on Lagos–Ibadan Expressway

A tragic road accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway has resulted in the death of two people, causing concern among motorists and residents who regularly use the busy highway. The incident involved a lone vehicle that reportedly lost control and crashed, leading to fatal consequences for the occupants.

According to eyewitness accounts, the crash happened in the early hours of the day when traffic was relatively light. The vehicle was said to be moving at high speed before veering off the road and crashing. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the incident but confirmed that two persons had already lost their lives.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were said to have taken charge of the scene to manage traffic and begin preliminary investigations. The bodies of the victims were evacuated, while efforts were made to clear the wreckage to restore free flow of traffic on the expressway.

The accident has once again raised concerns about speeding and road safety on one of Nigeria’s busiest highways. Authorities have urged motorists to obey traffic rules, avoid reckless driving, and ensure their vehicles are in good condition to prevent avoidable loss of lives on the nation’s roads.
