Police arrest 13 suspected cultists in Delta community forest

The Delta State Police Command has arrested 13 people suspected to be members of a cult group during an operation in a community forest in the state. The suspects were reportedly hiding in the forest, which security agencies believe was being used as a meeting and training point for criminal activities.

According to police sources, the arrest followed credible intelligence about the movement of cult groups within the area. Officers carried out a coordinated raid, surrounding the forest and apprehending the suspects without resistance. Some dangerous items were also reportedly recovered during the operation.

The police said the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to curb cultism and violent crimes across Delta State. Residents of nearby communities had earlier complained about fear and insecurity caused by activities linked to cult groups, especially at night.

The command reassured the public of its commitment to maintaining peace and urged residents to continue sharing useful information with security agencies. Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be charged to court after due process.
