Christmas: Police deploy personnel, operational assets for yuletide security in Niger

The Niger State Police Command has announced the deployment of officers and operational equipment to ensure a safe and peaceful Christmas celebration. The move is part of the police’s annual security plan to protect lives, property, and public spaces during the yuletide season.

According to the command, the deployment covers major towns, highways, worship centres, markets, and recreational areas across the state. Patrol vehicles, surveillance teams, and rapid response units have been positioned to quickly handle any security threats that may arise during the festive period.

The police leadership reassured residents that the operation is proactive, not reactive, and aims to prevent crime before it happens. Officers have also been directed to remain professional and friendly while carrying out their duties to encourage cooperation from the public.

Residents have been advised to stay vigilant, obey traffic rules, and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station. The command expressed confidence that with public support, Niger State will enjoy a calm and incident-free Christmas and New Year celebration.
