A legal practitioner has called on President Bola Tinubu to directly address allegations surrounding the proposed tax reform bill, warning that continued silence could worsen public suspicion. The lawyer argued that in sensitive national matters like tax reforms, clarity and openness are essential to maintain trust between the government and citizens.

According to the lawyer, failing to respond to serious claims gives room for damaging interpretations. He described silence in such situations as unhealthy for democracy, stressing that Nigerians deserve clear explanations on policies that affect their income, businesses, and daily lives.
