NSCDC deploys 2,380 personnel for yuletide

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of 2,380 personnel across the country to ensure safety and security during the yuletide season. The move is part of the agency’s strategy to prevent crime and maintain public order during the festive period.

The NSCDC explained that officers will be stationed in high-risk areas, including markets, highways, religious centers, and public gatherings, to deter criminal activities and respond swiftly to emergencies. The deployment aims to protect lives, properties, and businesses as Nigerians celebrate Christmas and the New Year.

Speaking on the initiative, the NSCDC leadership urged citizens to cooperate with security officers and report any suspicious activity. The agency emphasized that the festive period often sees increased criminal attempts, and proactive measures are necessary to maintain peace.

The NSCDC also assured Nigerians that the personnel would be equipped with modern tools and communication devices to enhance efficiency. The agency reiterated its commitment to a peaceful yuletide, encouraging communities to observe safety guidelines and enjoy the season responsibly.
