DNKI President, Alban calls for reduction in airfares, laments poor road infrastructure

The President of the DNKI, Alban, has appealed to the government and relevant authorities to urgently reduce the high cost of air travel in Nigeria. He said expensive airfares are placing unnecessary pressure on citizens, especially business owners and travelers who rely on flights due to poor road conditions across the country.

Alban lamented that many major roads are in terrible shape, making road travel unsafe and uncomfortable. According to him, bad roads have forced many Nigerians to depend on air transport, even when they cannot easily afford the rising ticket prices. He described the situation as unfair to ordinary citizens.

The DNKI President stressed that improving road infrastructure would help reduce the burden on the aviation sector and give people more affordable travel options. He added that better roads would boost trade, tourism, and overall economic activities, especially in rural areas.

Alban urged the federal and state governments to treat road repairs and transport reforms as a national priority. He noted that lowering airfares and fixing roads would not only ease movement but also improve the standard of living for millions of Nigerians.
