The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed reports claiming that the chairman of Maradun Local Government Area has defected from the party. The party described the information as false and misleading, saying it was spread to create confusion among supporters and the general public.

According to the PDP leadership in Zamfara State, the Maradun chairman remains a loyal member of the party and has not taken any step to leave. Party officials stressed that no formal communication, resignation letter, or defection notice has been received from the chairman.

The PDP further accused opposition parties of deliberately circulating rumours to weaken its structure at the grassroots. It said such claims often surface whenever the party is strengthening its base or making strategic moves ahead of future elections.

Reaffirming its position, the PDP urged its members and supporters to ignore unverified reports and rely only on official party statements. The party also pledged to continue mobilising and consolidating its presence across Zamfara State.
