Alleged alteration of tax reform bill by Tinubu mockery of Nigeria’s democracy – Adeyanju

Human rights activist, Reno Omokri Adeyanju, has condemned the alleged alteration of the new tax reform bill by President Bola Tinubu, describing it as a mockery of Nigeria’s democratic principles. Adeyanju accused the administration of bypassing proper legislative procedures and undermining public trust in government.

According to Adeyanju, changing the bill without full transparency or proper consultation with lawmakers amounts to a violation of democratic norms. He stressed that such actions could erode citizens’ confidence in the political system and negatively affect Nigeria’s economic stability.

Adeyanju further urged the National Assembly and other relevant authorities to investigate the alleged alterations and hold responsible parties accountable. He emphasized the need for governance based on fairness, rule of law, and adherence to constitutional procedures.

He concluded by calling on Nigerians to remain vigilant and demand accountability from their leaders, insisting that no individual or office should be above the law.
