Nigeria’s Defence Minister, Mohammed Badaru Musa, has said the country’s security forces are making steady progress in weakening terrorist groups and criminal networks across different regions. He explained that sustained military operations and improved intelligence sharing are helping to reduce the capacity of armed groups to carry out attacks.
According to the minister, joint efforts by the Armed Forces and other security agencies have led to the arrest of key suspects, destruction of hideouts, and recovery of weapons. He noted that these actions are disrupting the supply lines and coordination of terrorists and bandits.
Musa added that the government is also focusing on non-military approaches, including community engagement and support for local intelligence. He said winning the trust of communities has helped security forces gather timely information and respond more effectively to threats.
The defence minister reassured Nigerians that the fight against insecurity remains a top priority. He urged citizens to continue supporting security agencies and providing useful information, stressing that collective effort is crucial to restoring lasting peace across the country.
