The Chief Judge of Ogun State has granted the release of 29 inmates as part of efforts to reduce overcrowding in the state’s prisons. This initiative is aimed at improving living conditions and easing pressure on correctional facilities.
In a statement, the Chief Judge highlighted the need for additional infrastructure to ensure that prisons are not overburdened. He emphasized that decongestion is crucial for promoting humane treatment of inmates and enhancing rehabilitation programs.
