Osun Guber: ‘They’re political nomads’ – Accord dismisses parallel primary election

Accord Party has rejected claims of a parallel primary election in Osun State, describing the organizers as “political nomads” with no genuine interest in the party’s values. The party stressed that only its official structures are empowered to conduct primaries.

The party further stated that attempts by certain individuals to hold an unauthorized election are illegitimate and will not be recognized. Accord Party leadership warned that such actions could mislead the public and harm the party’s integrity ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election.

Party officials also urged members to remain loyal to the authentic party process and avoid aligning with those seeking personal political gain through unofficial channels. They emphasized that the real primary will be held under the supervision of the national leadership.

Accord Party’s position reflects ongoing disputes within the Osun political landscape, with multiple factions attempting to influence candidate selection. The party reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and orderly conduct in preparing for the upcoming governorship contest.
