Dangote slams NMDPRA chief over alleged $5m school fees for four kids

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has publicly criticised the head of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) over allegations involving extremely high school fees paid abroad. Dangote questioned how a public official could reportedly afford such an amount on education.

According to Dangote, the claim that about $5 million was spent on school fees for four children raises serious concerns about accountability and transparency in public service. He stressed that such figures are shocking, especially in a country struggling with economic hardship.

The businessman said the issue goes beyond personal spending and touches on trust in government institutions. He urged authorities to investigate the matter properly so Nigerians can understand how public officials fund such lavish expenses.

Dangote added that Nigeria needs stronger checks and balances to rebuild public confidence. He called on regulators and oversight bodies to ensure integrity in leadership and prevent actions that could damage the nation’s image.
