AFCON: ‘People outside don’t see it’ – Uzoho opens up on relationship with Nwabali

Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has spoken about his relationship with fellow shot-stopper Stanley Nwabali, saying many fans do not fully understand how close they are off the pitch. He explained that there is mutual respect between them despite competition for the starting spot.

Uzoho said the rivalry between goalkeepers in the national team is healthy and helps everyone improve. According to him, both players push each other during training and share advice, which strengthens the team rather than creating division.

The former AFCON champion added that people often judge based on who plays matches, but inside the camp, the goalkeepers work together as one unit. He stressed that personal egos are set aside for the good of Nigeria.

Uzoho concluded by saying that unity among players is one of the Super Eagles’ biggest strengths ahead of AFCON. He believes teamwork and understanding will help the team perform better and make Nigerians proud.
