A prominent Fulani organization has called on Nigeria’s Defence Minister to adopt non-kinetic strategies in addressing the nation’s insecurity challenges. The group emphasized that military force alone cannot fully solve the rising cases of violence across the country.
The organization suggested approaches such as dialogue, community engagement, and socio-economic empowerment programs to reduce tensions between herders, farmers, and other vulnerable groups. They stressed that a holistic strategy could prevent conflicts before they escalate.
According to the group, relying solely on military interventions may worsen the situation and lead to collateral damage. They urged the Defence Ministry to prioritize intelligence, negotiation, and peacebuilding initiatives in affected regions.
The call has sparked discussions among policymakers and security analysts, highlighting the importance of combining both kinetic and non-kinetic measures to achieve lasting peace in Nigeria.
