Chief Judge raises alarm over withdrawal of police orderlies

A Chief Judge has raised serious concerns over the sudden withdrawal of police orderlies attached to judges across the state. The judge warned that the action could expose judicial officers to security risks and affect the smooth administration of justice.

According to the Chief Judge, judges handle sensitive cases that sometimes involve powerful individuals and criminal elements. Removing police protection, the judge said, puts their lives in danger and could discourage them from carrying out their duties without fear or favour.

The Chief Judge called on security authorities and relevant government agencies to urgently review the decision. He stressed that adequate protection for judges is not a privilege but a necessity to safeguard the independence of the judiciary and uphold the rule of law.

He also appealed for cooperation between the judiciary and security agencies to prevent any breakdown in confidence within the justice system. The judge warned that failure to address the issue quickly could weaken public trust and threaten the safety of court officials.
