Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has urged Borno refugees living in Cameroon to return home, promising N500,000 to each returning family. He said the state government is committed to supporting displaced citizens to rebuild their lives.
Governor Zulum explained that the initiative aims to motivate refugees to come back and contribute to the state’s reconstruction efforts. He assured them that security has improved in many areas of Borno.
He further highlighted that the government has programs in place to help returning families with housing, education, and healthcare. Zulum stressed the importance of unity and resilience as the state continues to recover from past conflicts.
The governor concluded by appealing to international organizations to assist in facilitating the safe and smooth return of displaced persons. He believes that returning home will provide better opportunities and stability for affected families.
