Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has assured parents of the abducted pupils from Papiri that the government is doing everything possible to secure their release. He explained that security agencies have been working round the clock and are fully committed to bringing the children home safely. The governor also sympathised with the affected families and promised that the state will not abandon them during this difficult time.
Governor Bago noted that the incident has caused deep concern across the state. He said the government has strengthened collaboration with security forces and community leaders to track the attackers and rescue the pupils. According to him, every available resource is being used to speed up the operation and ensure that the children return unharmed.
He also urged parents and residents to remain calm and avoid spreading false information. Governor Bago explained that sharing unverified news can create fear and disrupt security operations. He assured the public that updates will be provided as soon as credible information is available, and emphasised that security agencies are already making progress.
The governor further promised that long-term measures will be taken to improve school security across Niger State. He stated that protecting children is a top priority for his administration and that stronger safety structures will be implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.
