Nigeria must win war against insecurity – Akpabio

Nigeria’s former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has called on the government and security agencies to prioritize the fight against insecurity in the country. He stressed that tackling crime, banditry, and insurgency is crucial for national stability and development.

Akpabio urged the authorities to adopt proactive strategies, including better intelligence, community engagement, and modernization of security forces. He highlighted that citizens’ trust in government depends on their ability to live safely.

He also emphasized the role of collaboration between federal and state governments, traditional leaders, and local communities in curbing criminal activities. According to him, a united front is key to winning the war against insecurity.

Finally, Akpabio warned that failure to act decisively could worsen the country’s security situation, affecting businesses, education, and social harmony. He called for urgent and sustained action to protect lives and property.
