The Kano State Police Command has restated that the ban on motorcycle and tricycle operations at night remains fully in place. The enforcement, according to the command, is necessary to curb rising criminal activities often carried out under the cover of darkness. Officers have been deployed across key areas to ensure total compliance with the directive.
Police authorities explained that the renewed action follows fresh reports of robberies and attacks linked to late-night movements. The command emphasized that the measure is aimed at protecting residents and reducing opportunities for criminals who frequently use motorcycles and tricycles as escape routes during operations.
Residents were urged to cooperate with security agencies and avoid violating the directive, especially between the restricted late-night hours. The police added that anyone caught breaking the rule will face legal consequences, as the ban is part of a broader strategy to enhance public safety in the state.
Security operatives also called on community leaders to support the enforcement and help sensitize young riders. The command assured the public that the restrictions are temporary but crucial for restoring peace and preventing crime rates from rising.
