The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two drivers in Edo State for allegedly transporting illicit drugs. The suspects were reportedly intercepted while conveying the substances to different locations within the state.
Authorities said the arrests are part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and curb the menace of narcotics in Nigeria. NDLEA officials disclosed that the drivers were carrying significant quantities of illegal substances.
The suspects have been taken into custody and investigations are ongoing. NDLEA emphasized that anyone caught engaging in drug-related crimes will face stringent legal consequences.
The agency also appealed to the public to report suspicious activities and cooperate with authorities to prevent the spread of illicit drugs. Strengthening community awareness, they said, is crucial in the fight against narcotics.
